WHAT WAY ARE YOU GOING?

Dead flies make the perfumer's ointment give off an evil odor; so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.  A wise man's heart inclines him toward the right, but a fool's heart toward the left (Ecclesiastes 10:1-2).

The way of the Lord is on the right.  The way of man veers to the left.  The way of the Lord is personal responsibility for one's behavior.  The way of man is for society to accept responsibility for personal irresponsible behavior.  Certainly, it is a sign of a decaying society when it is demanded of the government, and church related institutions, that they pay the birth-control expenses of single women.  On this earth, there is no end to foolishness.

Though the contraceptive issue is a cheap campaign ploy of the democrats in an attempt to say the Republicans have declared war on women, it does reveal the depths of depravity to which our culture is headed.  How much lower can it descend?  Let me think, we already kill babies in an attempt to solve our social problems, now free contraceptives.  Free drugs to keep each one happy while the economy sinks into oblivion?  I believe there is a strong connection of the general abandonment of personal responsibility to a sinking economy.  The costs of supporting personal irresponsibility are too enormous to overcome.

Our Father's Blessings,
Tom

Dr. Steele, am I going to have to have your bacon on this one? Here I am, just a cattle rancher and you are some hifiluten counselor and yer tryin to tell me that our nation's 15 trillion debt is just due to social costs? What about the wars and the bailouts? The poor economy is about more than just social costs!

H.R., you make a good point. Sometimes, like this time, when I write a "Bullet" I just jot down some thoughts I am having about an issue. It is a rough draft, so to speak, and certainly not the last word. Still the basic premis is true, the abandonment of traditional morality and the destruction of the traditional family has a huge cost connected with it. Getting a high school diploma and being in a faithful traditional marriage is about the best wealth-building strategy there is,but fewer & fewer are opting for it, chosing rather to be polyamourous. The social costs of that choice alone are enourmous. Of course there are other factors! Vote buying, corruption in banking and finance, unending wars are all signs of a culture on the decline. The Lord said that where the corpse is the vultures gather--they are gathering. This might seem overthetop to you, but it is no coincidence that sharia is becoming thought of as legitimate law in the West.

How can an intelligent and able young woman have the audacity to ask for free birth control? Because she does not want to be responsible for her choices--that is the public's responsibility in her mind.
