THANK YOU, IOWA HAWKEYES

It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops (2 Timothy 2:6).

During the farm crisis of the 1980's, erstwhile coach, Hayden Fry recognized the real crisis that farmers were dealing with.  While there was not much a coach who was building a football program could do, but he did do something.  As an awareness raising program, Hayden attached ANF, America Needs Farmers, stickers to the Iowa football helmets, and they still remain.  Iowa State didn't do it.  Nebraska didn't do it.  Ohio State didn't do it, etc., etc.  The Iowa Hawkeyes are the only football team in America with the ANF sticker on the helmets.  Thanks, Hawkeyes.

Victories have to be won on the field, but perhaps the good Lord could help a bounce or a call go your way this year in close games.

Blessings,
Tom

You Iowans are sooo cocky! I think you will be singing a different tune the day after Thanksgiving. The Huskers are going to pluck the hawks like a chicken. I see your boy, regents president, Craig Lang said Nebraska is an ag state, but is not number one in anything related to agriculture while Iowa is number one in all things agriculture. Now you come along with this, implying Nebraska football doesn't care about farmers! Nebraska farmers will be so happy after the Huskers Humiliate the hawks! Then they will know the Huskers love farmers.

Dr. Steele, you should know better than to write a piece like this!

I thought you needed a little time to simmer down; RU feeling any better yet?

It was probably not very smart of Craig Lang to give the Huskers locker-room bulletin board material--I might have to revise my score prediction, but, it will still be a big win for the Hawkeyes!

What do you want me to do HR? The truth still is that Iowa is the only football team with the "America Needs Farmers" logo on the helmet.

Blessings,
Tom

Funny post! I will show it to Kirk. You may not be his favorite father-in-law anymore!
